A Big Pattern Change Ahead

Good Sunday everyone. We have a very warm ending to the weekend on tap today and this is all ahead of a big time pattern change that takes place over the next few days. We continue to track a change that will make the weather maps look more like December than October.

Let’s start you out with the 5 Day Forecast…

– Today will see temps heading into the low and mid 70s with a partly to mostly sunny sky. Winds will be a factor once again as gusts hit 30mph for the third day in a row for many.

– Some clouds increase later today into this evening along a front that sags in from the north. This may also bring an isolated shower in here at some point.

– We should see a nice north-south temp gradient setting up for Monday Afternoon. Take a look at the model projections…

– The BIG change begins on Tuesday as low pressure works across the state from the southwest. This will bring rain and some rumble of thunder in here to go along with gusty winds and crashing afternoon temps. Readings should fall into the 40s by the end of the day.

– MUCH colder air then takes control of the pattern for the middle and end of the week with Wednesday and Thursday highs having a hard time hitting 50. Some scattered showers will be likely during this time. Check out the GFS solution for this period…

– While the pattern has a winter look to it… it’s still October. The same type of pattern a month from now would be a snow maker for parts of this region.

I will have another update on the wild week ahead coming later today. Have a great Sunday and take care.
