Heavy Rain Threat Early Thanksgiving Week

Good Friday everyone. Our weekend is just around the corner and everyone is making plans for the big week ahead. Thanksgiving week is one of the busiest travel periods of the year and the weather always plays a huge factor in those travel plans. Mother nature appears to be in a nasty mood to start things off.

It continues to look more and more like another prolonged period of heavy rain will move in from Sunday through Wednesday. Our rain totals map be greater than what we just had and this could cause some flooding problems before all is said and done.

The GFS is REALLY cranking out some impressive rainfall during this time:

IF that comes to pass… high water would become an issue across parts of Kentucky. That is a setup we will continue to keep a very close eye on over the next few days.

Our short term weather isn’t too bad. We have a very cold start to our day in store as many readings dip into the low 20s.

Morning Lows

Sunny skies today will boost our afternoon temps into the upper 40s to low 50s. Saturday continues to look like a pleasant day with an increase in clouds and temps in the 50s. That looks to be the best day we see for a while, so make plans to enjoy it.

I will have more updates on the heavy rain threat later today. Enjoy your Friday and take care.
