Good Friday afternoon everybody. The weather outside is anything but frightful, but that may change by the end of the weekend into next week. Old Man Winter is about ready to answer the wake up call and threaten our region with some rain and snow.
It will be interesting to watch it all play out over the next few days as nothing is set in stone. Before we get to the wintry threat, we have more nice weather to go through. Highs this afternoon continue to run in the 60s for most areas and we will duplicate that on Saturday.
Clouds will roll into town and our winds pick up. Fans heading out to Commonwealth Stadium to watch the Cats and Vols are in for a treat!
Rain should arrive Saturday evening into the overnight as a storm system moves into the region. The new model runs are back to showing a stronger and slower system. The GFS has returned to the idea of a big cutoff low pressure right on top of us…
The above scenario would imply a slower change to snow from southwest to northeast later Sunday and Monday. It also shows a better chance for some accumulating snows for parts of the state.
Nothing is for sure with this storm, but the chance for wintry weather is certainly there from Sunday through Monday. Exactly how wintry remains to be seen.
Enjoy the remainder of your Friday and take care.
