Good Monday evening. It’s been an ugly day across the bluegrass state as heavy rain continues to work through. Today’s rain has boosted Lexington’s yearly rain total into 2nd place all time.
More rain is ahead tonight as we slowly begin to turn our attention toward a more wintry setup.
A low pressure is expected to develop across east Tennessee later Wednesday and work into the mid atlantic states by Thursday morning. This low will throw rain and snow back into parts of Kentucky Wednesday afternoon and then make the switch to snow Wednesday evening.
There is the threat for accumulating snows, but figuring out exactly where is a challenge. Here’s a look at my snowfall odds map:
That is certainly NOT set in stone as it’s all about the track of the low. Those lines will likely move around a bit as the forecast models continue to get a better grip on where this storm tracks.
In the meantime… it’s all about the rain out there this evening and tonight. Ready to build an ark yet?
Have a great evening and take care.
