Good Monday evening everyone. I wanted to drop by for a quick update on the record rainfall race. Lexington is up to the second wettest year on record and the top spot is well within reach.
Lexington’s 2011 rainfall is up to 64.07″. The top dog is 1935 with 65.76″. That means we need 1.69″ of rain through December 31st to tie and 1.70″ in order to say… WE’RE NUMBER ONE!
We should take a big chunk out of those totals by the end of the week as another wet weather maker moves in. Look at the rain totals showing up on the GFS for Thursday:
That shows we have a shot at an inch of rain later this week and that would certainly put us on the cusp of claiming the wettest year on record title.
Let’s go for it. To heck with the snow… let’s go all in on rain over the next few weeks and take over an all time record for Lexington. You guys with me?
Have a great evening and take care.
