Good Monday everyone. I hope each of you had a wonderful weekend. The weather was gorgeous outside as we had the perfect mix of clear skies and cold temps. Conditions this week won’t be nearly as nice as clouds and rain move back in to spoil the party.
Let’s kick it off with the 5 Day Forecast:
Today will start cold with temps in the upper teens and low 20s. Some clouds will increase throughout the day and there is a small chance for a shower or two across southern parts of the state. Highs will hit the upper 40s for most areas.
A big storm gets going across the plains as we head into mid week. This will throw a shower or two our way for Tuesday into Wednesday as our temps take a walk on the mild side. Readings may flirt with 60 by Wednesday.
As the storm heads into the Great Lakes on Thursday… a cold front swings through here. This will cause our rains to become more widespread. The GFS Ensembles shows this scenario really well:
Colder air will surge in by Thursday night and Friday. This happens as some overrunning light rain breaks out. Temps may get just cold enough by Saturday to throw a touch of light snow into the mix.
Want to talk about the prospects of a white Christmas? I will be doing just that with updates this week.
Have a great Monday and take care.
