Good Thursday everyone. A soaking rain is on tap today into early tonight as a fast moving low pressure zips across the region. This is going to bring heavy rain our way and we’re officially on ‘wettest year on record watch’.
Lexington begins the day with 64.78″ of rain on the year. That’s less than an inch away from the all time wettest year of 65.76″ set way back in 1935. All indications are for a half to one inch of rain to fall through tonight. If we wind up on the high end of that range… you will be living through Lexington’s wettest year ever.

The rain will taper off later tonight as colder air moves in for Friday. There could be a leftover light shower that may mix with some late day flurries. Here’s the rest of the forecast:
It’s a chilly Christmas weekend with only the smallest threat for a few snowflakes on Christmas Day. At this point… I would settle for a lonely flake.
