Flood Watch Through Tonight

Good Thursday to one and all. Heavy rain and thunderstorms will continue to overspread the state today and this will lead to an increased threat for high water. Much of central and eastern Kentucky is under a Flood Watch into Friday morning.

We will see a heck of a moisture supply from the gulf into our region and this can dump 1″-3″ of rain today and tonight. The GFS shows this moisture pipeline well:

Rainfall Since Midnight

Colder air is still on tap for the weekend and we will have the chance for some light snow and flurries at times. Here’s the rest of the forecast:

I will continue to watch the heavy rain situation today and have updates as needed. Have a great Thursday and take care.
