Good Thursday to one and all. Heavy rain and thunderstorms will continue to overspread the state today and this will lead to an increased threat for high water. Much of central and eastern Kentucky is under a Flood Watch into Friday morning.
We will see a heck of a moisture supply from the gulf into our region and this can dump 1″-3″ of rain today and tonight. The GFS shows this moisture pipeline well:
We are coming off the wettest year on record and January has been soggy, so we have a wet ground with some rivers running high. That much rain should cause some high water problems before all is said and done.
