Good Wednesday to one and all. Our weather pattern has been kicking back into high gear in recent weeks and that trend looks to continue for a while. We have two systems we are tracking over the next several days and one of those may threaten the area with some wintry stuff.
The short term forecast looks good with a mix of sun and clouds today and temps hitting the upper 40s to near 50.
Clouds will race back in here later today ahead of low pressure tracking into the region on Thursday. This will spawn widespread showers overnight into early Tomorrow. The models are spitting out up to a half inch of ran for some areas:
Temps will be rather mild into Thursday with readings topping out into the low 50s. Winds should gust up a bit during this time.
The next weather item up for bids is a potential southern storm for the weekend. The models are growing more and more bullish on the potential for this to become a winter weather maker for our region late Saturday into Sunday. Check out the GFS track with this storm:
That is usually a great track for accumulating snow for Kentucky. Let’s see what the future model runs do with this thing, but it could be our biggest winter threat, so far.
Have a great Wednesday and take care.
