Good Monday and welcome to an active transition from February to March. Things start out on a very nice note today, but our attention quickly turns toward a big storm rolling in by Wednesday. This one looks to be a loud one with thunder and wind taking center stage.
High temps today will make a run toward 60 degrees in many areas. Skies will be partly sunny and our winds will pick up as the day wears on. There is a weak cold front dropping into the state from the north. This won’t have much impact on our weather and may only knock temps down a few degrees.
The 5 Day Forecast shows how the week plays out:
Clouds will roll in on Tuesday and our winds are going to pick up ahead of a developing storm across the plains. Temps will rise all afternoon and evening from southwest to northeast.
This sets the stage for a wind, wet and wild Wednesday across the state. Check out all the thunderstorm action showing up on the GFS:
Some of those storms may become strong or severe. High winds will likely be an issue with or without thunderstorms.
There may be another big plains storm that throws another storm chance at us by late Friday. That system looks to have much colder air behind it for the weekend.
Have a great Monday and take care.
