Good Thursday evening everyone. A significant severe weather outbreak is likely on Friday. The ingredients are coming together for a massive 0utbreak of storms for the Ohio and Tennessee River Valleys.
The Storm Prediction Center has already placed most of Kentucky in a moderate risk for severe storms:
I would not be surprised to see the SPC upgrade part of that to a high risk.
Lines of thunderstorms will sweep across the state during the day with the prime severe weather time being the afternoon and evening. Damaging winds are a given with these storms. But, the atmosphere is also primed to deliver some violent, long tracking tornadoes.
I urge you to stay very weather alert late Tonight through Friday evening. I will be here with you to help give you the all the weather information you need to stay ahead of the storm.
Have a great evening and take care.
