Good Thursday everyone and thanks for making us your online stop for weather. The first thunderstorms since last Friday’s tornado outbreak will rumble across the commonwealth today. These storms are not expected to be severe, but will likely make for some nervous moments for those impacted by the deadly twisters.
Heavy rain will be the main threat from today’s thunderstorms with some areas picking up an inch of water. The best chance for that will be across the southern half of the state. Winds will be rather gusty as the cold front passes through the state this evening.
Cooler and drier air moves in by Friday and this should set the stage for a pleasant weekend. Temps will hit the mid and upper 50s Saturday under mostly sunny skies. Clouds will begin to return by Sunday with the threat for a late day shower or storm.
It looks like Monday and Tuesday of next week will provide another shot at showers and storms that may produce heavy rainfall.
I have you all set to track today’s weather:
Have a great Thursday and take care.
