Spring Fever Alert

Good Tuesday to one and all. We are issuing a full blown Spring Fever Alert for the state of Kentucky. This means to be on guard for shorts, pasty legs and flip flops that will fill the streets in the coming days. 🙂

This is a pretty incredible pattern over the next few weeks that may deliver some record highs across our region. The party gets started today with temps warming well into the 70s on a gusty southwesterly wind. It’s up from there as you can see on the NAM Temp Forecast…

That shows some 80 degree air pushing into the western part of the stat with everyone else in the mid and upper 70s. Wow! There will be an increase in moisture that can lead to some showers and thunderstorms later Thursday and Friday, but temps will remain warm.

This warm pattern looks to continue over the next few weeks. Take a look at the GFS Ensembles…

That looks more like early May than the middle of March!

Have a great Tuesday and take care.
