Friday Storms May Pack A Punch

Good Friday everybody. Today is the day we start to really feel the impact of a huge upper level low. This bad boy has been camped out in the plains states and will slowly meander its way across our region this weekend.

The end result will be an increase in showers and thunderstorms today into Saturday. The storms that go up this afternoon and evening have the potential to be strong or severe. Large hail looks to be the main player, with damaging winds a possibility.

I have you all set to track today’s storms:

High temps today will be in the upper 60s to around 70. Temps this weekend will be cooler with highs only in the low and middle 60s for many areas. Scattered showers and thunderstorms should carry us though Sunday.

Clearing skies and milder air works back in for early next week as temps return to the 70s for highs.

Have a great Friday and take care.
