Good Friday and welcome to the opening day of the spring meet at Keeneland. It’s also the kickoff to our Easter Weekend and the weather looks great all the way around. Cold nights will turn into mild afternoons with sunny skies.
Today will feature a ton of sun with 30s early in the day turning into low 60s by the afternoon. This is a great way to begin the weekend.
Clear skies and light winds will allow temps tonight to tank. Readings in the upper 20s and low 30s will be possible across parts of the region. This may lead to some frost or a light freeze.
The rest of Saturday looks fantastic with highs warming into the upper 60s with more in the way of sunshine. Our Easter Sunday will see a few clouds moving in and just the slightest threat for a few sprinkles. Temps should start out near 40 and warm into the mid and upper 60s by afternoon.
The models are still going toward a cold shot of air for early next week. The European Model continues to be the coldest of the bunch and would cause some freezing issues. We still have some time to watch and see how that plays out.
Have a great Friday and take care.
