Good Thursday everyone. We are slowly coming out of the recent cold snap and we have brighter and warmer days ahead. Of course, when you have temps in the 20s in April… it doesn’t take much to qualify as warmer.
I want to start by giving a big shout out to the students and faculty at East Valley Elementary in West Liberty. I was down there Wednesday talking about the devastating tornado that hit the town on March 2nd. These kids have been through so much and I loved getting to meet them and talk to them a little bit to help calm their fears about storms.

Our weather today begins clear skies and temps in the 20s. It will end with highs warming to near 60 degrees with partly sunny skies.
Warmer air will begin to slowly take control of the pattern from Friday into the weekend. Highs Friday will be well into the 60s and then the 70s return for Saturday. There will be a small threat for a shower or storm by the start of the weekend.
Readings will really ramp up bu Sunday and Monday with low 80s possible. This will be ahead of a storm system bringing day after day of severe weather across the plains states. That storm will finally work our way early next week with an increase in showers and thunderstorms.
The pattern over the next week and change still has a bit of a yo-yo look to it…
Have a great Thursday and take care.
