Good Monday everyone. Our work week is starting off with a line of showers and thunderstorms working across the state. This action is along a cold front that is swinging through with gusty winds and cooler temps behind it.
Today’s front is moving through fairly quickly and should not bring much in the way of strong or severe storms. If we are to get some strong storms, far eastern Kentucky would have the best chance. I have you all set to track today’s quick moving ban of showers and storms:
Winds today will be kicking up with gusts of 35mph or better possible. Temps will be hard to pinpoint for any one location because of the fast moving front. Readings in the upper 60s and low 70s will be common with areas in the east much warmer ahead of the front.
Tuesday will see a mix of clouds and sun and temps in the 60s. Readings will bounce back into the 70s for the middle and end of the week.
That will take us into the upcoming weekend and another shot of cold air that is likely to follow an area of low pressure working across the east. Look how far below normal the temps are from the GFS Ensembles:
Enjoy your Monday and take care.
