Good Thursday everyone. A cold front is slowly working across the region today and this thing will likely put the brakes on. That means some big temp swings and rounds of storms through the upcoming weekend.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be on the move today across much of the region. Here’s regional radar to track the action:
Temps should head back into the low and mid 70s for many areas. Our cold front will sag just to our south later tonight and this will allow for cooler air to settle in from the north.
Temps Friday will generally run in the 60s for many areas, but we could see a big temp gradient setting up from north to south. This also looks like a drier day.
Saturday finds the front lifting back to the north as our temps surge toward the 70s again with some late day storms possible. Look at the temperature difference across the Ohio Valley on Saturday:
The front may finally clear the area allowing for cooler temps to work in from the north for Sunday.
In a fashion typical of this April… those temps will then warm right back up to above normal by the middle of next week:
The warm pattern looks to carry us into Kentucky Derby weekend.
Have a fantastic Thursday and take care.
