Good Friday everyone. The weather across the region has been a little on the ugly side over the past several days. Rounds of severe storms moved across parts of Kentucky on Thursday bringing hail and high winds.
Some of the hail in southern Kentucky was bigger than a golf ball:
That’ll leave a mark!
Much cooler air has blown into town today and this is also bringing us calm conditions to kick off the weekend. Highs today will range from the upper 50s in the north to the low 70s in the far south.
The warm front will work northward tonight with a scattered shower or thunderstorm. Temps on Saturday will be much warmer with some scattered storms… especially late and some of those could be strong.
Sunday sees readings coming down a few degrees before we head into a very warm week ahead. Reading by Monday and Tuesday will go way above normal:
High temps may spend much of next week in the 80s as we go back into a summer feel. Humidity levels will be on the increase and this could lead to scattered storms in the week leading up to the Kentucky Derby.
Have a great Friday and take care.
