A Super Warm Week Ahead

Good Sunday everyone. We are coming off of a wild Saturday that featured a 40 degree temperature swing across the state. Parts of the far north struggled to get out of the 40s as the south soared into the 80s. The chilly temps will prove no match for the warm air as it dominates the weather for the week ahead.

We continue to see a front draped across the state today. This will set up another sharp temp gradient from north to south. The warmer air will slowly lift northward as the day wears on and this may spark a scattered storm or two.

The week ahead will feature temps taking off toward summertime readings. Each and every day will see readings hitting the 80s for highs with an increase in humidity to boot. As a matter of fact, we could be close to record highs before the week is over as temps could flirt with 90 degrees in some areas. Wow!

We aren’t alone in dealing with the warmth. Take a look at how much of the country is above normal this week:

The warmth will also come with a price and that price will be rounds of showers and thunderstorms. A few of these storms may be strong or severe.

Have a wonderful Sunday and take care.
