Your Week Ahead In Weather

Good Sunday everyone. Is it time to wrap up the weekend already? Yes it is and mother nature looks to give us some warmer temps as we do so. While our readings will be warmer, we will still be running below normal for this time of year. There’s a lot of that kind of talk in your week ahead in weather.

Temps today will hit the mid and upper 70s for many areas. Skies will be partly sunny and I can’t rule out an early day shower.

Monday looks to be the warmest day of the next week with temps right around 80 degrees. This surge of warmer air is ahead of a system working our way from the northwest. This bad boy will fire up some showers and thunderstorms later Monday into Tuesday.

Here’s the GFS:

Temps will fall behind this system as it heads toward the Carolinas. Highs in the low and middle 70s should be common for much of the middle and end of the week.

This start to summer is in stark contrast to the spring that just wrapped up. A spring that saw record breaking temps across most cities in Kentucky.

Enjoy your Sunday and take care.
