Good Monday everyone. The first full week of June is upon us and our weather pattern remains fairly pleasant in the temperature category. The nice temps are bringing along some scattered showers and boomers to much of the region today. I am seeing signs of a big warm up in the extended and I will touch on that in a bit.
Today will find an area of low pressure working from northwest to southeast across the Tennessee Valley. The widespread shower and thunderstorm action looks to pass us by just to the west and south. That means scattered will be the name of the game today and some areas may not see very much at all. High temps should range from the mid 70s to near 80.

I still can’t rule out a stray shower or thunderstorm hanging around into Tuesday and Wednesday. The big news will be some cooler air filtering back into town. Highs Tuesday will stay in the low and mid 70s and that looks to be the case for Wednesday, too.
Our string of cooler than normal temps looks to end by late week into the coming weekend as more typical summer temps move in. Take a look at the slow increase in temps on the European Model:
Temps will hit the low and middle 80s during this time as we also throw a little more humidity back into the weather picture.
Enjoy your Monday and take care.
