Good Sunday everyone. Things are starting to get a little dry across much of central and eastern Kentucky and we could use a nice drink of water. Mother Nature is looks to deliver just such a drink over the next couple of days.
We will get one more really warm day before the showers and storms begin to pick up. Temps today will hit the mid and upper 80s for most of the region with the west around 90 again.
Moisture will slowly increase from the south today and that will show itself in the form of some clouds. Those clouds may eventually produce some scattered showers and storms this afternoon into the evening. The best chance will be across southern parts of the state.
Our weather trackers pay a return visit to the blog:
The best chance for showers and storms arrives later tonight into Monday. Rain may become fairly widespread and the setup is one that can deliver one inch of rain to several areas of the state into early in the week. It’s a setup that may also crank out higher totals in localized areas over a short amount of time.
Temps will come down with highs having a tough time cracking 80 because of the clouds and rain.
A cold front will finally clear us out by Wednesday with a refreshing brand of air for the middle and end of the week.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and take care.
