Good Monday and welcome to a rainy day for much of the region. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will fire up as we roll through the day. This is some much needed water that should fall and some of the rain could be heavy at times.
The greatest concentration of rain will be across the eastern half of the state with lighter amounts across western Kentucky. That’s the part of the state that could REALLY use some rain as rainfall deficits there of more than a foot has put them in a severe drought.
Regional radar should be lighting up with showers and storms:
Scattered showers and storms will carry us into tonight and Tuesday. Much of this action will be along and ahead of a cold front dropping in from the northwest. If we can get some sunshine ahead of the front, some strong storms will be possible.
The air moving in behind the front will be very nice as our readings go below normal again for a few days. Look at the temp departure from the GFS Ensembles for Wednesday:
The pleasant air should carry us through the rest of the week.
Have a fantastic Monday and take care.
