Good Saturday everybody and welcome to the weekend. The heat and humidity returned right on cue Friday and has settled in for a lengthy visit. The good news is that we should be able to crank out some showers and thunderstorms over the next couple of days.

Showers and thunderstorms should become more widespread on Sunday. That would set us up for some much needed rains across most of the state. The NAM has been all over the rain chances for the past few days. Here’s the latest run:
A strong storm can’t be ruled out Sunday afternoon or evening. Temps will likely come down several degrees from today’s highs.
Hot and humid weather returns for the first half of next week and we may see some lower 90s around here. That hot weather may come to a rainy halt by the end of the week as a strong cold front moves in.
