Good Wednesday everyone. Temps continue to run on the toasty side of things and that trend has one more day before we shake things up. We have a much cooler pattern that is ready to settle into the bluegrass state and this may take our temps back to how we started the month. I won’t complain if that’s the case.
Temps today are hot… blah, blah, blah. Highs should be within a degree or two of 90 in most areas under partly sunny skies. Summer officially arrives at 7:09pm this evening, so the toasty temps are appropriate. We may be able to crank out an isolated storm or two. Here’s your regional radar:
A cold front approaches the state on Thursday and this will have some juice to work with. Scattered showers and storms will flare up later Thursday and continue into Friday. That’s when cooler air sinks in from the northwest. Low and mid 80s for highs look good for Friday and Saturday.
This is when the pattern gets set to go anti summer with its look. A big dip in the jet stream will engulf much of the eastern half of the country. This shows up well on the GFS:
That cooler than normal pattern will try to lock in for much of next week. The GFS Ensembles are all over it:
This is the cool pattern I have been harping on for well over a week. If it comes to pass… highs in the 70s may be noted for a few days next week.
Have a wonderful Wednesday and take care.
