Good Saturday everyone. Mother nature has gone completely wild. Thermometers hit 100 degrees for the second day in a row Friday and that just wasn’t enough to satisfy maw. A nasty complex of severe thunderstorms rumbled across northern and eastern Kentucky during the evening hours, bringing damaging winds to many.
This long lived damaging wind event got started near Chicago Friday morning and made it all the way to the east coast by evening. Winds of 70mph were recorded in many areas of northern and eastern Ky. The gusty winds shot way out ahead of the line and brought 50mph gusts to much of central Kentucky, even as the rain stayed far away.
The weather today has the potential to be just as wild with temps hitting the 100s and the chance for some more storms.
Your Saturday weather trackers:
Sunday will try to see temps nearing 100 degrees again as we fire up some more scattered storms.
Scattered storms are looking more likely into the first half of next week as our temps come down several degrees from where we are now.
Have a great Saturday and take care.
