Good Friday everyone. Mother nature continues to go hog wild with the weather across Kentucky. We had another extreme weather day Thursday as severe thunderstorms and record heat combined to give us a heck of a weather ride. Today looks to be another one of those wild and wooly kind of weather days.
Let’s start with the heat. Lexington hit 99 degrees before the clouds moved in on Thursday and that was good enough for another record high. Western Kentucky hit the low 100s once again. Today’s temps should be back into record territory for many areas with storms and clouds the only thing that could stand in our way.
These boomers will try to flare up again during the day into tonight and some of these may be strong or severe. This same forecast will hold true into Saturday with record highs in jeopardy and a few more storms on the menu.
We will have a cold front swinging in from the northwest later Sunday into Monday and that may do two things. 1. Enhance our shower and storm threat. 2. Knock our temps down toward normal readings for a few days early next week.
Let’s get back to the weather of today. Your daily dose of trackers:
I will have updates as needed. Enjoy your Friday and take care.
