Good Wednesday everyone. The storms on Tuesday danced all around central and eastern Kentucky with some of them on the severe side. The same is likely to happen again today as the boomers move through in clusters. This is all part of a stormy pattern that started a few weeks ago and looks to continue for the next few weeks.
The heat ridge that brought us our record temps earlier this summer has moved a littler farther westward. This is putting us on the cusp of the REALLY hot stuff and this is the area where thunderstorm clusters love to roam. The rainfall forecast from the GFS over the next few weeks looks like more of the same:
That map takes us into the first week of August and suggests our stormy ways will continue.
That trend rolls on this week as a cold front approaches later Thursday into Friday. This has the look of a widespread severe weather maker for much of the Ohio Valley. It will be followed by cooler temps and some sunshine for the upcoming weekend.
