July Ending On A Hot Note

Good Tuesday everyone. The month of July has been a wild one in terms of the weather. Severe weather, record rains and some of the hottest air ever in Kentucky combined to make this month crazy. The good news is the month ends today. The bad news is that it ends with more hot weather pushing back in.

Highs today will head toward the low 90s across much of central and eastern Kentucky. This is coming on the heels of 3 strait awesome weather days, so this will slap us back into reality. Humidity levels will also spike up a bit and this may lead to a scattered shower or thunderstorm.

Current Temperatures

There is a weak front diving in for Wednesday, but this will do very little to our temps. Readings in the upper 80s and low 90s will be common.

90-95 degree air looks poised to punch in by the end of the week into the start of the weekend. The heat and humidity will keep the threat for some thunderstorms going during this time.

It looks like a more pronounced cold front will swing in by late this weekend and that bad boy may spit out some strong storms. The European Model shows a nice clash of air masses:

There is some cool air slowly building up across Canada and this may have an impact on us a few months down the road.

Have a great Tuesday and take care.
