Good Thursday to one and all. The three H weather rolls on across the state today as temps head toward the low and mid 90s. Showers and thunderstorms will slowly ramp up over the next several days and the potential is there for some severe storms before the weekend is finished.
There isn’t a whole lot left to say about today’s weather. It’s hot, it’s humid and it’s hazy. Western Kentucky may hit the low 100s again. Yada Yada Yada.
The NAM High Resolution model is trying to develop a thunderstorm complex tonight across the west:
That could lead to scattered storms around here on Friday. Temps outside of the storms would be similar to what we have today.
The storm action will pick up by Saturday with a few rounds of storms likely. This will be ahead of a strong cold front that swings in from the northwest on Sunday. The setup looks like a severe weather maker across the Ohio Valley and that is already something that’s really catching my eye.
There is some good news from all of this as more much needed rains should fall across most of the state. The GFS totals through Sunday look pretty stout:
The other bit of good news is the expected temps for early next week. Highs in the 80s may be rather common behind the cold front.
Have a great Thursday and take care.
