Good Saturday everyone and thanks for dropping by the blog. Thunderstorms on Friday caused some localized flash flooding across parts of central and eastern Kentucky. That may turn out to be a preview of what’s ahead for the rest of the weekend. Rounds of boomers will continue to roll across the commonwealth and will likely cause a few more problems.
Scattered thunderstorms will slowly develop again today as the hot and humid air does its thing. Throw in a cold front working into the state late tonight and Sunday and you have the recipe for strong storms and torrential rains.
It looks like one big cluster of storms may work in tonight and early Sunday. That may weaken out a bit by midday Sunday with another round of storms poised to take its place by later in the day along a cold front.
Some of those storms will linger into the beginning of the new week as our temps come down several degrees.
Let’s get back to tracking the stuff out there today…
I will have updates as needed. Have a wonderful Saturday and take care.
