Good Monday everyone. We’re coming off a weekend that featured rounds of thunderstorms across the state and many of these storms put down a lot of water. Now we get into a little calmer weather for a few days before our pattern takes on a much different look.
A cold front is in the process of hanging up across the Tennessee Valley Today. This means a battle between the sun and clouds will continue and a few more storms can’t be ruled out. The best chance for action will be across the southern part of the state and you can track it here:
That’s a trend that looks to continue for a few more days. The GFS is all over it:
Highs this week will mainly be in the 80s.
This will take us toward a big time change in the overall pattern across North America. The jet stream will take a big dip into the eastern half of the country as the heat ridge heads well to the west. Here’s how the upper level map looks by late Friday:
That change takes place with a strong cold front moving through here on Friday. Showers and thunderstorms and gusty winds will become likely during the day. Temps behind this front will have a September feel to them. Highs in the upper 70s and low 80s and lows in the 50s look like a good bet for the weekend.
Have a fantastic Monday and take care.
