Good Saturday everyone and thanks for dropping by the blog. We have made it to the weekend and mother nature is giving us a fantastic weather with a touch of awesomeness thrown in. It looks like our September preview rolls on for a while as the pattern shows signs of hanging tough.
Highs today will hit the mid and upper 70s across the region as our skies stay partly sunny.
Readings Sunday will start out in the 50s and end in the upper 70s to lower 80s. More in the way of sunshine will be with us to cap off the nice weekend.
Another fast moving area of low pressure will work across the Ohio Valley late Monday into Tuesday. This shows up nicely on the NAM:
That means an increase in showers and storms later Monday and that stuff should stick around into Tuesday. Temps will hit the mid 80s Monday before dropping back to near 80 for Tuesday.
The overall look to the pattern continues to be one that screams early Fall. Another big trough will dig into the eastern half of the country by next weekend and that should send our temps back to below normal levels. The GFS is impressed with the dip in the jet stream:
That could mean another run of pleasant temps and I don’t think many of us will complain if it turns out like today.
Have a great Saturday and take care.
