High School Football Kickoff Forecast

Good Friday everyone. We have made it to the start of the high school football season here in the bluegrass state. The opening night of the year is usually one that features hot and humid conditions as the pigskin starts to fly. That is not going to be the case to start the 2012 season.

Here’s a look at the forecast for this evening:

It looks like much of the showers and storms we have out there today will be pushing out of the state by the time most games get underway. It may be a close call for those in the east and south and that’s something we will have to keep a close eye on. You can watch it all move away on regional radar:

A cold front is crossing the state today and our temps will struggle to get out of the 70s as this blows through here. Highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s look good for the weekend. I am a bit more concerned we could see a shower or two at some point, so just file that away in the back of your weekend minds.

We aren’t the only areas dealing with the below normal temps this weekend. Check out the temp departures from normal for Saturday:

Have a great Friday and check back for weekend updates. Take care.
