Cooler Than Normal Weather Continues

Good Sunday everyone and thanks for taking time out of your day to drop by the blog. We have quite the run of below normal temps going here in Lexington and it looks like we will be adding to it. While our temps remain pleasant, we will have to keep an eye on the sky for a shower or two over the next few days.

The past 9 days in Lexington have been 5.4 degrees below normal and the month as a whole is almost 1.5 degrees below normal. That’s a heck of an accomplishment considering the record heat of June and July.

The below normal temps continue out there today and that trend looks to hold into the middle of the upcoming week.

Our Sunday will feature temps in the upper 70s to low 80s across the entire state as a few more clouds roll in. These clouds are associated with a system working northeastward across the Tennessee Valley. Widely scattered showers or thunderstorms may develop later today into this evening.

of the weather trackers:

The best threat for any shower action looks to be overnight into Monday. The GFS:

The chances are not that high and a lot of the region may not see a thing.

Temps Monday and Tuesday will be very similar to what we are seeing this weekend with upper 70s and low 80s. Normal highs are in the middle 80s.

Have a great Sunday and take care.
