Tracking Isaac Toward Kentucky

Good Thursday everyone. Our Labor Day Weekend is inching closer and closer and so too are the leftovers of Hurricane Isaac. This storm is working slowly northward across the Lower Mississippi Valley and will work into our part of the world as we roll into the big weekend ahead.

This storm is likely to bring rounds of tropical showers and thunderstorms that can put down a lot of water across much of the area. Here’s an early call on rainfall Through Monday:

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will slowly develop as we had into Friday. Tropical air will begin to flood the region from the south. The showers and thunderstorms will become fairly widespread by Saturday and Sunday and this is when the bulk of the heaviest rains will fall. Scattered showers and storms will likely continue into Labor Day.

Torrential rains will likely accompany the storms that blow up this weekend and that may lead to some localized flash flooding. I also can’t rule out a strong storm or two.

Here are your Isaac tracking toys:

I will have updates as needed and will really ramp up the updates as Isaac gets closer to us this weekend. Have a great Thursday and take care.
