Isaac Set To Soak Kentucky

Good Friday everyone and welcome to the long holiday weekend. Labor Day is the unofficial end to summer and this summer looks to go out with a bang. What’s left of Hurricane Isaac is moving toward Kentucky today and will have a major impact on our weather into early next week.

Isaac is a Tropical Depression now and will likely remain so through Monday. The forecast track on this storm continues to suggest the center of the system will move into Kentucky by Labor Day. Rounds of tropical showers and thunderstorms will sweep across the state during this time.

Here’s my updated rainfall forecast through Monday:

Locally higher amounts will be possible for areas that get in on repeat thunderstorm action. If the remnants of Isaac come just a little farther southward, the heaviest totals would then be noted south of the Ohio River as opposed to the north.

Scattered storms will fire up today as the tropical air pushes into the state and you can track all the action:

I will have updates as needed today and throughout the weekend. Have a great Friday and take care.
