Good Wednesday everyone. We have already made it to the middle of a holiday shortened week and the weather is improving a bit in the short term. If you’re a fan of summer, you need to enjoy the next few days because we have some big changes by the weekend.
Temps today will hit the middle and upper 80s for much of central and eastern Kentucky and the same will be noted for Thursday. The threat for an isolated thunderstorm will be with us during this time.
The changes coming down the road for the weekend will mean a quick transition into a wet, windy and cool period. A big dip in the jet stream sinks across the eastern half of the country by late Friday into Saturday. This will be accompanied by an area of low pressure that will likely bring widespread showers and storms from late Friday into Saturday. That’s when the cool air takes over.
Check out how the GFS looks:
Things do not look good for the Kentucky home opener Saturday as rain is a real threat to steal the show. I will have be updating that weekend forecast in the coming days.
Have a great Wednesday and take care.
