Good Friday everyone and thanks for checking in on the blog. We have the threat for strong and severe thunderstorms across our part of the world later today into tonight. These storms are on the leading edge of a push of cool air sweeping in for the weekend.
A cold front will near the state by this evening with scattered storms going up well ahead of this boundary. I expect a squall line of storms to fire up along the front by early evening and this line will work into central Kentucky late this evening into the overnight and then work east from there.
Damaging winds and hail will be the primary threat with an outside shot at an isolated tornado. These storms will also be tremendous lightning and rain producers and some flooding issues may arise.
Showers and storms will slowly end by early Saturday afternoon as the push of fall moves in.
I will have updates as needed throughout the day and will send out quickie updates via twitter. I have all the storm tracking tools you needed:
Have a wonderful Friday and take care.
