Good Saturday and welcome to a new season. Fall officially arrives this morning at 10:49 and right on cue… our temps are getting set to take a big dive. This next round of cold air flows in this evening behind a strong cold front crossing the state today.
Our Front is packing quite the windy punch today as gusts approach 35-40mph at times. Temps ahead of the front will hit the 70s and rapidly fall as the boundary works through. Many areas will dive into the 50s early this evening and then thermometers will tank overnight. Our cold front is fairly moisture starved and will only produce a few clouds and scattered showers.
Let’s track it:
Clearing skies overnight will allow temps to hit the upper 30s in many areas. This may give the coldest valleys a kiss of frost. Sunday will be chilly and breezy with highs in the low 60s.
It’s Sunday night into Monday morning that can produce frost in many areas. Readings in the middle 30s will be possible during this time. Green Thumbs are on alert.
After another chilly day Monday, temps will begin to warm back into the 70s by Tuesday and the 70s hang tough for much of the rest of the week. The trade off will be a daily threat for scattered showers and thunderstorms.
Enjoy your Saturday and take care.
