Sunday Storm Tracking

Good Sunday everyone. We have a strong storm system that will roll across the region today and this will bring the threat for showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms may even become severe before all is said and done.

A cold front is working in from west to east today and we will see a line of thunderstorms along and ahead of it. Damaging wind will be the main threat from these storms and we could even see some big winds outside of boomers. Non thunderstorm wind gusts may top 40mph for some areas.

Chilly air will filter in behind this front later tonight into Monday. Temps Monday will have a tough time getting out of the upper 50s as showers taper off. Winds will continue to be gusty.

We will see calm conditions by the middle of the week, but that won’t last long. A massive storm system is expected to engulf much of the central and eastern part of the country by the second half of the week. That should give us some nasty weather with rain, thunder and wind ahead of the storm. Cold, wind and showers behind the storm for the weekend. I will be updating that over the next few days.

I will also have updates on today’s storms as needed. Have a great Sunday and take care.
