Good Wednesday to one and all. We have some big weather changes coming our way over the next few days as the jet stream takes another big dip. That dip means a lot of wind kicking in today and carrying us through the rest of the week into the weekend.
A cold front is working toward the state today and will move in later tonight. A line of showers and thunderstorms will push in from the west late this evening. Warm winds are going to crank up ahead of the front with readings into the 70s for highs.
Let’s track the temps and the storms:
The overnight showers and storms will be with us into early Thursday. Locally heavy rains and very gusty winds will be likely during this time. Temps by Thursday afternoon will be in the low and mid-60s as some sunshine takes over.
A big area of low pressure cuts off in the upper levels and spins into the Ohio Valley by Friday, and you can see it well on the European model:
This means we are going to have a ton of wind right through the weekend. That big spinning low will also bring a few rounds of clouds and showers our way from the northwest by Friday and early Saturday. Chilly air will be common, and any afternoon that is filled with clouds will struggle to get to 50.
A big warm up is lurking for the early part of next week.
Have a great Wednesday and take care.
