Good Sunday everyone and thanks for dropping by the blog. We’re coming out of a very chilly period that featured temps staying in the 50s for a couple of afternoons. Temps are about to take off as we get in on a serious case of Indian Summer.
Today will start the warm up with temps heading into the 60s. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny and this will be a great day to get out and check out the fall colors. If you can’t get out today, mother nature will give you several more chances in the week ahead.
Take a look at the highs from the GFS for the next few days:
Those 70s look to hang tough through Thursday before a massive weather change pushes in over the upcoming weekend. A very strong cold front will work into the state later Friday into Saturday. This front is being pushed by a December looking air mass and it may slow down right on top of us. Many of the models are suggesting an area of low pressure will develop to our east by next Sunday and Monday. The European Model looks a lot like winter:
Many other forecast models show something similar taking place during that time period. If they are correct, then an early season taste of winter would be possible. That’s still more than a week away so a lot can change. It should make for a fun week of tracking.
Have a great Sunday and take care.
