Good Tuesday evening everyone. Superstorm Sandy continues to impact our weather across central and eastern Kentucky. Rain and snow showers and gusty winds will continue into Halloween.
The storm this morning put down a lot of snow across parts of eastern and southeastern Ky. Check out this pic from Perry County:
Some areas along the Virginia boder picked up more than a foot of wet snow. These same areas may pick up another 1″-3″ overnight and I expect a few more schools to call off for Wednesday.
The rest of the state will see some rain mixing with snow from time to time. A slushy accumulation on elevated surfaces will be possible with temps in the low and mid 30s.
Halloween will be similar to what we have out there today. The showers may be a bit more scattered with temps in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Gusty winds will continue into trick or treat hours.
Here’s your regional radar to track the mess out there this evening:
Have a great evening and take care.
