Chilly showers working through the state

Good Wednesday everyone, and thanks for making us your home for weather. We have a fast-moving system working across the Bluegrass State today, and that’s bringing some showers into town. But it’s all eyes on the weekend and a major warm-up that will get a lot of people excited.

The showers today will be fairly scattered, and it won’t rain all day. Some areas might not see much at all. Winds will be gusty, and temps will be in the 40s. Track it all:

While we are seeing some ugly weather today, it will pale in comparison to what’s going on along the East Coast. The same areas hit hard by Sandy a week ago will see another big storm through Thursday. This one will produce a lot of wind, rain and accumulating snow for those folks.

The weather around here will stay chilly Thursday, with highs in the upper 40s to near 50 as the sun returns. This weekend looks awesome, with highs in the 60s to near 70 with mostly sunny skies and mild breezes.

That will all come crashing down early next week as a strong cold front works in from the west. That front will produce showers and storms around here late Monday with temps dropping more than 30 degrees as the front swings in. We could even see a few flakes by Tuesday. Here’s the GFS:

Have a great Wednesday and take care.
