Good Saturday everyone. Our warm temps have arrived right on cue as we roll into the weekend with an extra pep in our step. While things are warm out there now, some chilly changes are brewing for Monday.
Temps today and Sunday will be in the upper 60s to around 70 degrees. Skies will be mainly sunny with only a few high clouds showing up.
Winds are going to pick up and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a couple of forest fires before the weekend is finished.
A strong cold front arrives in Kentucky early Monday and this will put an abrupt end to the mild temps. This front will have a line of showers along and ahead of it and the NAM Simulated Radar shows this very well:
Some rumbles of thunder will be possible as the line rolls through and our winds are going to really gust up. Temps will hit the mid and upper 50s before daybreak and fall from there. We should head into Monday evening with readings in the upper 30s and low 40s.
The GFS shows just how far below normal the air behind the front is:
That’s a pretty cold setup with temps on Tuesday in the mid 20s to start and around 40 to end as our skies clear out.
The rest of next week looks seasonally chilly with temps in the upper 40s and low 50s. Some interesting signs are showing up as we inch closer to Thanksgiving week and I wouldn’t be surprised to see mother nature crank out a couple of big systems around that time.
Have a great Saturday and take care.
