Good Wednesday to one and all, and welcome to the last of the chilly days for a while. We are about to see a much milder pattern for the end of the week through the weekend. The mild weather will get all the attention, but I’m already watching for the next temperature drop next week and beyond.
Today’s weather will feature partly sunny skies with highs in the 40s. Those 40s will turn to 50s for Thursday and Friday as a milder wind blows from the west.
Highs this weekend will be close to 60 degrees as clouds increase. These clouds should produce some scattered showers late Saturday into Sunday. A few of those showers will hang around into early next week, with temps spiking into the 60s.
The next dip in the jet stream should sweep in by Tuesday night and Wednesday. This shows up very well on the GFS:
That cold shot is likely to blow through pretty quickly as temps come back up toward the end of next week. That is when I expect the pattern to undergo a more significant change. The GFS Ensembles show the big difference from the 6-10 day period to the 11-15 day time frame:
That could make for an exciting lead-up to the Christmas season.
Make it a great Wednesday and take care.
