Happy New Year. 2013 arrived with a nasty mix of snow, sleet and rain across the Bluegrass State, and that stuff will stick around through much of the day. This might lead to some tricky travel for some areas early this morning.
Here’s regional radar to follow today’s mix:
Highs today will top out in the low and middle 30s for most of the area. Temps will start to fall quickly this evening as colder air moves in. Readings may drop into the upper teens to start Wednesday, with highs in the upper 20s to near 30.
The next system drops in from the northwest on Thursday, and this will provide us with the chance for some snow showers and flurries.
We’ll have to keep our eye on later this weekend for the possibility of another weak system working in from the northwest.
Have a happy and safe New Year. Take care.
