Good Friday, gang. We’ve made it to the end of the week, and the weekend is ready to kick off with more cold air. The cold will even bring some snow to the state by Sunday. While we watch the weekend cold, all eyes are on some big changes blowing in for next week.
Temps today will top out in the low and middle 30s under partly sunny skies. Clouds will increase by Saturday as a weak system works across the Ohio Valley. This will eventually produce a period of light snow and flurries. You can see that on the GFS:

Temps early next week will go up several degrees, but the warm-up is looking more and more wimpy. Many of the new models bring a stout cold front in Tuesday night and Wednesday morning:
When you see models advertise a big warm-up, then see them take it away as we get closer, that’s usually a sign that a cold pattern is locked in. That pattern is very likely to come in by next weekend and stay through the rest of the month. This has the potential to become a memorable period across much of the country.
The European Model is on board with one heck of a pattern kicking in by next weekend:

Make it a great Friday and take care.
